So what have we been doing?

We have successfully devised and delivered……

1. 2,600 individually tailored one to one care, support and advice packages for young people in crisis and excluded from school.

2. Free education programmes amounting to over 26 hours per week for the past 4 years.  These have included: numeracy, literacy, social skills, communication, IT, Music and drama, life skills, cooking and sports.

3. Provided food, aid, accommodation and education for 100’s of street kids and orphans in Eastern Europe.

4. 22 residential holidays for 560 children and young people.

5. 6 contracts for Connexions West Yorkshire, Wakefield Metropolitan District Council and Wakefield College amounting to over £1.6m.

6. A 2 year environmental and agricultural programme called ‘Food 4 Thought’ funded by the Big Lottery Fund that delivered 1000’s of hours of free, fun and educational activities for over 400 young people. This included growing food from seed and learning to cook healthy food.

As well as these programmes we have successfully run after school activities, crime divergence project and summer schools.

"Fundamental has been doing amazing work in the former mining district of Wakefield, reaching out a helping hand to young people in crisis. They not only look to reintroduce young people that have lost their way back into the community, but they also endeavour to support the family of that young person. Fundamental is one of a small number of local charitable organisations that really supports the young people of today, offering counselling, activities during the school holidays, training, and much more. It's great to see a charity providing great services for young people, their families and communities in such a positive and fun way."
